Delivery
How long does delivery take?
Bikes in stock leave our warehouse in Utrecht within one working day. Delivery to the door is free everywhere except the UK and Switzerland.
| Where | Time | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany | 3–5 working days | Free |
| France, Austria, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Sweden | 5–8 working days | Free |
| UK, Switzerland | 7–10 working days | €89, duties included |
The day before, you pick a 2-hour delivery window by text or email.
Which countries do you deliver to?
We deliver to 14 countries: the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Austria, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Ireland, Sweden, the UK and Switzerland.
Those are also the countries where our partner workshops and roadside help work, which is why we don't ship further yet.
See delivery timesDoes the bike arrive assembled?
Yes, 95% of it. Turn the handlebar straight, screw in the pedals and charge the battery. It takes about 15 minutes, and the tools are in the box.
Rather not touch a tool? A mechanic can set it up at your door and fit it to you for €49.
Book a home setupCan I track my order?
Yes. When your bike leaves the warehouse you get an email and a text with a tracking link. The VOLTA app shows the same status.
You can move the delivery date up to 48 hours before it's due, from the tracking page.
Battery
How far does one charge take me?
On the standard 625 Wh battery a VOLTA One rides about 120 km in Eco, 90 km in Tour and 60 km in Turbo. Slide to see the other two batteries.
Eco 120 km Tour 90 km Turbo 60 km
With the Standard 625 Wh battery.
Measured with a 75 kg rider on mixed terrain at 20 °C. Cold weather, headwind and steep climbs take 20 to 30% off.
Which battery should I choose?
Every VOLTA One takes all three batteries, so you can also add a second one later. Pick by your longest regular ride, not your average one.
| Battery | Weight | Range (Eco) | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light 500 Wh | 2.9 kg | 96 km | −€150 |
| Standard 625 Wh | 3.4 kg | 120 km | included |
| Long Range 750 Wh | 4.0 kg | 144 km | +€240 |
Most city riders are happy with Standard. Choose Long Range if you ride more than 60 km a day in Tour or live somewhere hilly.
How long does charging take?
With the 4 A charger in the box, the standard battery goes from empty to 80% in 2 h 40 min. You can charge it on the bike or take it indoors: it unlocks with the bike key.
| Battery | 0 → 80% | 0 → 100% |
|---|---|---|
| Light 500 Wh | 2 h 10 | 3 h 30 |
| Standard 625 Wh | 2 h 40 | 4 h 20 |
| Long Range 750 Wh | 3 h 10 | 5 h 10 |
In a hurry? The optional 6 A Fast Charger (€129) brings the standard battery to 80% in 1 h 50.
How many years will the battery last?
A VOLTA battery keeps at least 80% of its capacity for about 1,000 full charges. For most riders that is 6 to 8 years, or roughly 80,000 km in Eco.
- Top up whenever you like: partial charges don't wear it out.
- Over winter, store it indoors at 30 to 60% charge, between 10 and 20 °C.
- Don't leave it in a hot car or full sun on the charger.
It's covered for 3 years, and a replacement Standard battery costs €590. See what the warranty covers.
Warranty
What does the warranty cover?
Every VOLTA One comes with three layers of cover, from the day it's delivered:
| Part | Cover |
|---|---|
| Frame and fork | Lifetime, original owner |
| Motor and battery | 3 years |
| All other parts | 2 years |
Wear parts like tyres, brake pads and the belt are covered for manufacturing faults, not normal wear.
How do I make a warranty claim?
- Take a photo of the problem and write one or two lines about it.
- Find the serial number under the bottom bracket. It starts with VO-.
- Send both through the app or to our team below. We reply within one working day.
We then book a partner workshop near you or pick the bike up. Warranty repairs, including pickup, cost you nothing.
Start a claimIs the battery covered by the warranty?
Yes, for 3 years or 1,000 charge cycles, whichever comes first.
If it drops below 70% of its original capacity in that time, we replace it for free. The app shows the battery's health, so you never have to guess.
Does the warranty transfer if I sell the bike?
Yes. Transfer the bike to the new owner under Ownership in the app, and the remaining motor, battery and parts cover goes with it.
The lifetime frame cover becomes 10 years from the first delivery date for the second owner.
Returns
Can I return my bike?
Yes. Every VOLTA One comes with a 30-day test ride. Ride it up to 300 km and if it isn't for you, we pick it up for free and refund you in full.
Pickup is free everywhere we deliver, the UK and Switzerland included.
How to start a returnHow do I start a return?
- Book a pickup in the app, or ask our team below.
- Put the bike back in its box. No box? Tell us and the driver brings one.
- We collect it within 5 working days.
When will I get my refund?
Within 10 working days of the bike reaching our warehouse, back to the card or account you paid with.
If you bought it on finance, the plan is cancelled with no fees.
Can I exchange it for a different size?
Yes, free within the 30 days. We bring the new size and take the old one away on the same visit.
Not sure which size you need? Check the size chart first.
Riding
How fast does a VOLTA go?
The motor helps you up to 25 km/h, the legal limit for e-bikes in Europe, so you don't need a licence, plate or insurance. Above that it's all your legs.
| Mode | Support | Range (625 Wh) |
|---|---|---|
| Eco | 50% | 120 km |
| Tour | 140% | 90 km |
| Turbo | 300% | 60 km |
The 85 Nm mid-drive motor makes hills feel flat in Turbo.
Can I ride in the rain?
Yes. The motor, battery and display are sealed to IP56, so rain, puddles and a garden-hose wash are fine.
- Don't use a pressure washer on the motor or bearings.
- Don't ride through water deeper than the bottom bracket.
- After salty winter roads, rinse it and dry the battery contacts.
Which frame size should I get?
Go by your height. If you're between two sizes, take the smaller one for a nimble feel, or the larger for long rides.
| Size | Your height | Step-through |
|---|---|---|
| S | 155–170 cm | Yes |
| M | 168–183 cm | Yes |
| L | 181–196 cm | No |
Got it wrong? A size swap is free within 30 days.
How much can the bike carry?
The VOLTA One is rated for 140 kg in total: you, your bags and whatever's on the rack. The bike itself weighs 23.8 kg with the standard battery.
| Mount | Max load |
|---|---|
| Rear rack | 27 kg |
| Front basket | 10 kg |
| Child seat (rear) | 22 kg |
Service
How often does it need a service?
Your first check is free, after 500 km or 3 months. After that, once a year or every 3,000 km, whichever comes first.
The carbon belt never needs oil and lasts about 3 times longer than a chain, so a yearly service usually takes under an hour.
Where can I get it serviced?Where can I get my bike serviced?
At any of our 420 partner workshops across the 14 countries we deliver to. In 9 cities a mobile mechanic can also come to you: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Antwerp, Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Paris and Copenhagen.
Find my nearest workshopWhat if I get a flat tyre?
The 55 mm tyres have a puncture-protection layer, so flats are rare. If one happens, there's a repair kit under the saddle.
In the first year, VOLTA Assist is included: call us and we come to you, or take you and the bike to the nearest workshop, in all 14 countries.
How do software updates work?
Updates arrive over the air through the VOLTA app. They install while the bike is parked and charging, and take about 5 minutes.
They can improve the motor's feel, range and the display. Nothing changes until you tap Install.
